Keyna Eleison and Pablo Lafuente will talk about ideas, impressions and feelings after the initial months as Artistic Directors of MAM Rio, and about some directions, dynamics and sensations they will be aiming for.
Keyna is a researcher, Griot and shamanic heiress, story-teller, singer and ancestral chronicler. She was a member of the African Heritage Commission for the qualification of the Cais de Valongo as World Heritage. Curator of the 10a Bienal Internacional de Arte SIART, Bolívia. She is a contributor to Contemporary& Latin America, and teaches at the Free Teaching Programme at the Escola de Artes Visuais at Parque Lage, in Rio de Janeiro.
Pablo Lafuente has worked as a curator, writer, researcher and educator. He was the co-curator of Dja Guata Porã: Rio de Janeiro indígena (Museu de Arte do Rio, 2017-18) and the 31st Bienal de São Paulo (2014). He also worked as associate curator for the Office for Contemporary Art Norway (2008-13), as a Reader at Central Saint Martins, and an editor at Afterall and Afterall Books, where he is currently Series Editor for the Exhibition Histories books.
