SAM is the first fully dedicated visual arts museum in Singapore and has one of the world’s most important collections of contemporary art by artists from Singapore, Southeast Asia and Asia. In 2019, our two museum sites closed for a building redevelopment. As our museum readies itself for its new look, there will be a series of interesting projects that you could play a part in.
We are seeking Curator and Curator (Media & Technology) to join our team. Both positions report to the Director (Curatorial, Collections and Programmes) and will research and contribute to scholarship on present-day contemporary art globally, with a focus on practices in Singapore, Southeast Asia and Asia.
Both the Curator and Curator (Media & Technology) will develop areas of research specialisation to support institutional policies and goals on exhibition programming, collection development and publications, with the Curator (Media & Technology) focusing in particular on media and technology in art. The Curator and Curator (Media & Technology) will also curate exhibitions and artwork commissions, develop collaborative and cross-disciplinary projects as well as work with other museum colleagues in presenting programmes such as lectures, talks and training sessions.
The job description and requirements can be found at https://www.singaporeartmuseum.sg/get-involved#job-openings.
