Ann Demeester leaves de Appel arts centre

From February 1, 2014 Ann Demeester will be the new director of the Frans Hals Museum | De Hallen Haarlem.

Ann Demeester has played an important role in increasing knowledge about contemporary art among a wider audience, and in the discussion over the future of the arts in The Netherlands. The board and staff of de Appel arts centre are deeply grateful to Ann Demeester for her vigorous efforts and involvement.

The chairwoman of Board, Alexandra van Huffelen, provides a ringing commendation: "Ann Demeester has led de Appel arts centre in an impressive manner. Over the past years our institution has grown to become an international beacon of and for contemporary art. We wish Ann the greatest success in her new function."
