Marlen Mouliou
Marlen Mouliou is full-time Lecturer of Museology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Faculty of History and Archaeology) and Scientific Co-ordinator of the Postgraduate Programme in Museums Studies, NKUA. She is also responsible for the Public Archaeology activities organized in the context of the University excavation project at Plasi, Marathon.
Since 2016, she has been Member of the Panel of Judges for the European Museum of the Year Award and Vice-Chair of the European Academic Heritage Network (UNIVERSEUM). She is also Co-Coordinator of the project Migration:Cities /(im)migration and arrival cities, run by the International Committee for the Collections and Activities of Museums of Cities (CAMOC). From 2010 to 2016, she has served as Secretary and then Chair of CAMOC.
She studied Archaeology and History of Art at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Museum Studies at the University of Leicester, UK (School of Museum Studies), where she obtained a Master of Arts and a Doctorate of Philosophy.
She worked for sixteen years (1997-2013) as an archaeologist-museologist at the Hellenic Ministry of Culture (Directorate of Museums, Exhibitions and Educational Programmes). She has been an adjunct professor at the University of Thessaly, Faculty of History, Archaeology and Social Anthropology (2002-2010). She has published widely in journals and books, both in Greece and internationally. She is co-editor of the book I Mnimi afigeitai tin poli…Proforiki istoria kai mnimi tou astikou chorou, Plethron Publications.
She is founding member of the Scientific Committee of the scientific journal Tetradia Mouseiologias [Museological Notes] and of the journal CAMOCnews.
