Lílian Amaral
Visual Artist, Public Art Researcher and Independent Curater. PhD at Universidade de São Paulo and Universidade Complutense de Madrid..I have been investigating and teaching public art and urban museum studies at the University of São Paulo, Universidad Complutense of Madrid, Universitat Barcelona, Universidad of Girona [Spain] and Universidade Estadual Paulista - UNESP, where I´ve got my Post-Doctoral Research at the Art Institute. Now I´m coordinating the investigation line Art and Media City connected to the GIIP - International and Interinstitutional Research Grupo in Art, Science and Technology.After finishing a first combined degree in art and education at the FAAP – Armando Alvares Penteado Faculty, São Paulo, Brasil, (1986) I pursued my studies at the University of São Paulo and University Complutense of Madrid (M.A. 1995 and PhD 2010) where I presented a thesis on Public Contemporary Art at Intercultural Iberoamerican context, discussing social creativity, collective action and artistic practices (Derivations of Contemporary Public Art), supervised by Professor Ana Mae Barbosa and Marian Lopez FDZ Cao. I am also currently a researcher at the Instituto de Artes da Universidade Estadual Paulista and CNPQ, member of GIIP – International and Interinstitucional Research Group in Convergence of Art, Cience and Tecnology.
