NuMu - Museu de arte contemporânea da Guatemala promove leilão online para arrecadar fundos.
Amigos,
As many of you know, the private/public initiatives to support contemporary art in Guatemala are almost nonexistent.
Founded in 2012, NuMu is the first and only museum dedicated exclusively to contemporary art in Guatemala.
Despite it being the most visited contemporary art museum in the world (per square meter!), being open to the public 24/7, offering free exhibitions and public programming, and having produced exhibitions by many great artists including Amalia Pica, Mario García Torres, Regina José Galindo, Radamés “Juni” Figueroa, Donna Conlon & Jonathan Harker, the Colección Poyón (of Angel & Fernando Poyón), Federico Herrero, and Margarita Azurdia, amongst others, NuMu is struggling to find the necessary funds to cover its annual budget.
As a result, NuMu has organized an electronic auction through Paddle8 with works by more than 40 international artists. The auction itself has only three more days to go, and it's a win/win situation for everyone: the buyer will not only get to keep a work by a great artist (at less than market value!) but will be helping this small but great museum to continue to operate.
So let’s remember that the egg is a symbol of love, and support this great initiative!
