National Women’s Council of Ireland Legacy Project
In an Open Forum in The Hub at LCGA, Curator Valerie Connor & Artists Anne Tallentire, Ailbhe Murphy and Ciaran Murphy of Vagabond Reviews discuss the Legacy Project described below - all are welcome.
The National Women’s Council of Ireland’s Legacy Project comprises new work by four commissioned artists. Research has involved the unpacking of ideas about work, society, and economy as well as advocacy and legacy building, with an interest in the role of writing and the photographic image in making and breaking the status quo. Creating another kind of public dialogue about the work of the NWCI,and how interested communities& individuals, & artists contribute to our knowledge of the world. Artists: Anne Tallentire, Miriam O'Connor, Sarah Browne, Vagabond Reviews. Curator: Valerie Connor.

6pm Mind Meitheal by Deirdre O’Mahony
The Mind Meitheal is a cultural intervention - a creative space in which different forms of knowledge; tacit, place-based, environmental, ecological, cultural, political and social science, are given parity. By entering into a trans-disciplinary exchange process, participants creatively and openly engage with specific questions - in this instance the questions have come from the conflict on the regulation and future use of raised bogs and peatlands in Ireland.
