In collaboration with the Goethe Institut (Hong Kong, New Delhi, São Paulo, Cairo and New York) and representatives from more than 70 periodicals, magazines and online media from all over the world were invited to discuss and reflect the topics and theses of the exhibition.

Another trans-regional congress is being held for the documenta 12 magazine in São Paolo from 8–9 October in collaboration with Goethe Institute São Paulo and Permanent Forum: between public and private realms. The participants are representing art periodicals from Brazil, Singapore, Serbia, Argentina, Columbia, Egypt, Poland, Iran and the Netherlands.

The key topic of the two-day congress are the second and third leitmotifs of the forthcoming documenta - What is Bare Life? and What is to be done?. Following the internal working meeting on 8 October, there will be a public discussion with the participants at 6pm. Admission free.

Further trans-regional congresses are to be held over the coming weeks and months in Cairo, New York and Johannesburg. All events are made possible by a cooperation with the Goethe-Institut in each respective city.
