Six exhibitions per year, 9 artist residencies and an innovating education and community-based program are combined to create an open and dynamic context, ideal for the discovery and understanding of contemporary art. The artistic program is coupled with a broad range of complementary activities : films, lectures, festivals and concerts.

The Wiels project is the fruit of a collective action initiated by a group of private persons and the support of the public authorities. The art center is housed in the remarkable corner building of the former Wielemans-Ceuppens breweries built by the modernist architect Adrien Blomme in 1930.
